Dreaming of Flowers

Join us for an exciting winter pop-up event designed especially for flower lovers and gardening enthusiasts of all levels.

The BAKE SHOP and SHADE HOUSE will be open from 10 AM to 2 PM. You can grab a treat and relax in our heated greenhouse, wander through the mini-market, and visit with friends and neighbors.

The Bake Shop will be well stocked with treats prepared by Amy and Carey, as well as hot soups, freshly baked bread, and a variety of dips and spreads. Pre-orders for select items will begin on Saturday, Feb. 1.

The greenhouse will be the site of our mini market, where you’ll find seeds, potting soil, pots, tools, gift cards, and our hand-crafted herb salts and herb-flower vinegars. Other vendors will be on site with a variety of garden and nature themed crafts.

Sarah Demars from Four Blooms Farm will be showcasing stunning tulips at a creative Blooms Bar, where you can make your own unique bouquets using locally grown winter flowers.

Additionally, Red Wagon Staff will teach a variety of workshops aimed at preparing you for the upcoming gardening season:

DREAMY DISH GARDENS with Susan Lepple at 10:00AM.

Join Susan Lepple in this exploration of making an amazing living centerpiece. Inspired by her love of the textural details in our forest and influenced by Francoise Weeks' new book Wonder of the Woodlands each participant will create their own unique centerpiece. We will provide each participant with a glass container, soil, and a selection of houseplants and woodland materials to get creative. Susan has a wonderful way of inspiring others to enjoy the delicate and unique details of plants and their artful arrangement. Sign up here.

PERENNIAL MAGIC with Chad Donovan at noon.

To all the flower lovers who are interested in a more naturalistic approach to perennial gardens: This class is an opportunity to learn from Chad Donovan's years of experience growing and taking care of perennial plants in his own gardens as well as here at Red Wagon Plants. Participants will get a preview of select native and ornamental perennials we are carrying in 2025 and in the process learn which questions to consider when choosing new plants for a garden. Basic perennial maintenance will be covered as well. Whether you're only just dreaming of the idea of a perennial garden or whether you are looking to refresh a well established one, all questions and levels of experience are welcome. Sign up here.

QUEER BOTANY: FLOWERS IN WINTER with Kat Consler at 2:00PM.

Join this exploration of unique flowers and plants that shine in the cold of winter.
LGBTQIA+ folks and allies are invited to take a close look at plants around us through a queer lens. This class covers basic botany and encourages participants to contemplate the intricate beauty of the plants in our backyards. Winter time can give the impression that all plants are dead, but there is plenty to discover. This class mostly takes place indoors, weather depending we will also take a walk through Red Wagon's gardens. Sign up here.

ABUNDANT CUT FLOWERS with Lily Belisle at 2:00PM.

Are you dreaming of endless summer bouquets? Lily will help you make that dream come true. In this class, she’ll talk about her favorite cutting flower varieties and which flowers and foliage plants to grow and harvest to keep bouquets on your table throughout the seasons. You’ll get tips for successful growing and learn which tools to use to increase abundance and ease.
